RfP/s Calculator

Compare Refine Point rates to optimize your Refine strategy

The Refine Dilemma

In Revolution Idle's Minerals system, you'll constantly face a strategic choice when farming Refine Points (RfP):

Quick Loop Strategy

Refine frequently with smaller RfP gains (e.g., every 30-60 seconds). You get constant progression and can compound your gains quickly.

Best when: You're actively playing, or when the next milestone is far away.

Wait for Milestone Strategy

Wait longer to hit a major milestone or weapon level before Refining (e.g., 3-5 minutes). You get a much larger RfP gain in one shot.

Best when: You're close to a breakthrough milestone, playing idle, or the RfP gain is significantly higher (2-3x+).

📝The Question

Which strategy actually generates more RfP per second? It's not always obvious! A quick loop with 2e13 RfP in 45 seconds might be better than waiting 3 minutes for 8e13 RfP.

How This Calculator Helps

This calculator compares the RfP per second (RfP/s) rate of two different strategies side-by-side. Simply enter your expected RfP gain and time for each approach, and it will tell you which is faster and by how much.

Understanding the Numbers

Scientific Notation (e notation)

Large numbers in Revolution Idle use scientific notation: 1.5e14 means 1.5 x 10^14 (150,000,000,000,000).

Mantissa: The base number (1.5 in the example)
Exponent: The power of 10 (14 in the example)

RfP per Second

The calculator divides your total RfP gain by the time taken:

RfP/s = (Mantissa x 10^Exponent) / Time

Time to Goal

Enter your target RfP amount in the Goal section, and the calculator will show how long it will take with each strategy:

Time = Goal RfP / RfP per Second

Example Comparison

Strategy 1 (Quick Loop): 2e13 RfP in 45 seconds
RfP/s = 4.44e11

Strategy 2 (Wait for Milestone): 8e13 RfP in 200 seconds
RfP/s = 4.00e11

Result: Strategy 1 is 1.11x faster! Even though Strategy 2 gives 4x more RfP, it takes 4.4x longer, making quick loops the winner.

Goal: If you need 1e15 RfP total, Strategy 1 will get you there in ~37m 34s, while Strategy 2 takes ~41m 40s. Strategy 1 saves you 4m 6s!

When to Use Each Strategy

Quick Loops Win When:

  • You're actively playing and can monitor the game frequently
  • The RfP gain difference isn't massive (less than 2x compared to waiting longer)
  • You want to maximize RfP/s through constant compounding
  • The next major milestone is far away (more than 5-10 minutes)

Waiting for Milestones Wins When:

  • You're playing idle/AFK and can't actively monitor
  • The RfP gain is significantly higher (2-3x+ more) for the wait
  • You're close to a weapon level or major milestone (within 1-2 minutes)
  • The milestone unlocks exponential improvements to RfP gain

📝Final Advice

The calculator shows pure RfP/s efficiency, but don't forget your playstyle! If you can't actively monitor the game, longer waits make more sense even if they're slightly less efficient. Use the Goal feature to see exactly how much time you'll save with each approach!
